In 2026, Galerie Louis & Sack expands its field of research to encompass the international dimension of the Japanese avant-garde. This new direction highlights the connections between the major postwar movements—Gutai in Japan, Art Informel in France, Spatialism in Italy, and Abstract Expressionism in the United States—which shared a common desire to redefine painting through gesture, material, and the creative process.
On the occasion of Fine Arts Paris, the gallery presents a selection of previously unseen works by artists of the Japanese avant-garde.
